Au CHSLD Jeffery Hale/St-Brigid’s Home, le 11 juillet 2018, à l’âge de 98 ans, paisiblement et entourée des siens, est décédée madame Elsie Alexis Prevost (née Thomson), épouse de feu Reginald Prevost.
Née en Écosse près d’Aberdeen, elle avait pris le Paquebot Île-de-France en 1946 pour émigrer au Canada. Depuis, elle avait vécu à Baie-Comeau, puis à Ste-Foy avant de s’installer définitivement à St-Gabriel de Valcartier en 1976
Elle laisse dans le deuil ses enfants : Sandra (Marc Loiselle), Lynne (Datchew Merid), Greg (Marie-Blanche Rémillard) et Fiona (Mitch Barmash); ses petits-enfants : Alexis, Natnael (Claudine Simard), Vanessa (Eric J֯orgens), Julian (Malika Srivastava), Melinda (Sam Plamondon); ses arrière-petits enfants : Noah et Balamani; de même que de nombreux autres parents et amis. Toute sa vie, elle s’est distinguée par son implication dans la communauté, par sa personnalité, son charme et son sens de l’humour
Le service religieux sera célébré le samedi 11 août, à 10 h 30, en l’Église Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier (1881, boulevard Valcartier, Valcartier-Village). La famille recevra les condoléances à compter de 9h30. Les cendres seront inhumées au cimetière St-Gabriel situé en face de l’Église.
La famille tient à remercier le personnel du CHUL ainsi que celui de l’Unité de soins palliatifs du centre Jeffery Hale-Saint-Brigid’s home pour leur compétence, leur dévouement, leur écoute et, en de nombreux cas, leur tendresse.

At the Jeffery Hale Hospital on July 11th, 2018, at the age of 98, Mrs. Elsie-Alexis Prevost (born Thomson), wife of the late John Reginald Prevost, died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.
Born near Aberdeen, Scotland, she emigrated to Canada as a war bride on the Île-de-France in 1946. Reg and Elsie first lived in Baie Comeau where their four children were born, moving to Ste-Foy in 1960, and finally settling in St-Gabriel de Valcartier in 1976.
She is survived by her children: Sandra (Marc Loiselle), Lynne (Datchew Merid), Greg (Marie-Blanche Rémillard) and Fiona (Mitch Barmash); her grandchildren: Alexis, Natnael (Claudine Simard), Vanessa (Eric Jorgens), Julian (Malika Srivastava), Melinda (Sam Plamondon); her great grandchildren: Noah and Balamani. Throughout her life, she found much fulfillment in many aspects of volunteering. She touched the hearts of many and we will deeply miss her personality, wit and charm.
A mass will be held on August 11th, at 10:30 am at Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier Church (1881, boulevard Valcartier, Valcartier-Village). The family will receive condolences before the mass, from 9:30 am. Her ashes will be buried at St-Gabriel cemetery, facing the church.
The family would like to thank the staff of the CHUL, as well as the personnel of the Palliative Care Unit at the Jeffrey Hale Hospital for the exceptional warmth and tenderness shown to Elsie during her short stay.
